New Garden Resident
11 January 2007
Our most recent visitor to take up residence in the shed!
Wild-life in the Chiswell Walled Garden
This pipistrelle bat was roosting on the back concrete-block wall of the wattle & daub garden shed in early November 2006. It disappeared after two days( during which time we ceased working- John had been measuring up the frames for the triangular windows). We assume that it found shelter in the small pitched roof at the back of the ‘green roof ‘. We left as much of the spaces between rafters open to facilitate and encourage wild life in our community garden.
